Title: Purging (2009)
Artist: Flesh Eating Foundation
REVIEW: "Following 2007's critically acclaimed "Seethe" CD, Flesh Eating Foundation have released "Purging". "Purging" contains eight tracks, five brand new recordings and three remixes selected from the "Godless" Remix Competition. The new recordings reflect the end of one era for the band, an expulsion of bile, bitterness and anger, reflecting both life changing personal events and the doom/gloom of recent happenings home and abroad.
"Godless" is a bruising attack on organised religion built for the clubs. "Victims" is a slab of digital punk outpouring resulting from the brutal murder of Sophie Lancaster. "Fucking Sick" has multiple meanings and is a schizophrenic audio train wreck. "Septic" and "You Made Me Suffer" are wholly more personal, with the latter being a dark claustrophobic and speaker worrying barrage of atmosphere vs outbursts." (TIBProd Italy)
REVIEW: "“Purging” has a very harsh quality to it like a lot of the newer industrial bands seem to have except these guys add other elements that really make them stand out. The first track’ “Victims”, starts out with a very nice Punk-like feel and immediately kicks a hard beat that can really get you going and your heart pumping. You can tell right off the rip what kind of band this is and what its going to make you feel like. Out of coffee? That’s alright. Grab this disk and drop it in. You’re up now, son. You can trust that.

Purging
By the time you get to the next track, “Godless”, you’re totally awake and ready to face the day with an attitude and a chip on your shoulder. Don’t you just love it? I especially like this track and all the remixes. Real cool. The fifth track, “Septic” has a nice industrial feel to it. Harshy vocal style and a bit of a chanty touch and the haunting synth brings you down to a dark place where the band lives and breathes. The dark feel stands out very well on the track,” You Made Me Suffer”. The feedback creeping up and a slow pound and then, out of nowhere, AHAHAH!!! Then back to the creepy feedback. Very cool. Mamma is going to hate you." (Grave Concerns)
REVIEW: "There's a lot of hype behind Flesh Eating Foundation, and they have long been a name that is synonymous with UK Industrial. Do they deserve this praise? Abso-frickin-lutely. Not to sound cliché but this lot have been through some dark times over the last year, and they have come through it.....‘Purging’ is a testament to many of the great underground Industrial acts around at the moment, and what’s possible with a strong work ethic. Flesh Eating Foundation are finally receiving the attention they deserve. Of course it also helps if your veins are made out of cables and wire so you’re pretty much indestructible, which, you know...is probably true for the members of this band." (Soundsphere Magazine) |
